All tests of the Il-114-300 aircraft have been completed, with the final tests scheduled for the first quarter of 2026, Rosaviatsiya head Dmitry Yadrov told reporters.
"All tests on the Il-114 aircraft have been completed. We still have some areas related to weather conditions, such as testing for lightning, thunderstorm activity, and reaching sub-zero temperatures, which I am sure our colleagues at UAC will complete in the first quarter, and we will all celebrate this wonderful event together when we receive the Il-114 regional aircraft, which, of course, our regional airlines are eagerly awaiting," Yadrov said.
The Il-114-300 aircraft is a modernized version of the Il-114 turboprop aircraft. It is intended to replace the outdated An-24 on domestic airlines, as well as foreign-made aircraft of a similar class, such as the ATR72 (France) and Bombardier Dash 8 (Canada). The aircraft is being developed for local airlines, with the ability to operate in remote regions. It will be capable of operating autonomously from small airfields with short and unpaved runways. In addition, it is expected to be used in Arctic regions in low-temperature conditions.
