I agree with @

.
Let‘s use the working title „super“ for this ideal app for now.
Permission to edit wikis are granted at the connection level at the moment.
Connections would ideally get editing rights per „Super“ item, additionally to the access (=able to see) rights. A „Super“ item could be displayed in different ways, for example with or without comments. This could happen through a drop down menu of pre-defined layouts, as is already the case with websites. In the layout editor, there could be options for displaying places for comments to choose from (below, or in a second tab like in mediawiki), similar to like now with 2-column or 3-column layouts for webpages.
To use the Super app for a wiki, a Super item would be a wiki page, not a wiki. To bundle wiki pages in a wiki, categories would be used. That‘s one reason why the Super app would need categorizing capabilities.
Super items should be searchable and then the search result displayable in both list and grid view, toggling of preview should be possible.
Such searches should also be able to be used for selection of Super items. Such a selection would be used for bulk meta edits (modify access rights, modify editing rights, add or remove a category, delete or archive the selected items).
A search should be able to consider at the same time categories, a period for creation timestamp, a period for recent edit timestamp, granted access rights for a certain connection, granted edit rights for a certain connection, having been edited by a certain connection during a certain period if time.
Just brainstorming.

And the small but important things should be included.
You should be able to have different settings for the tag, the slug (URL), and the title displayed on the page. Meta data should also be editable, so that when people link to your page, it can pull up additional information.
Ideally, it should be multi-code compatible, similar to the wiki, where you can put Markdown and HTML in the same entry. It should have a filtered HTML option and a "code allowed" option, like the webpages app, that way you can give trusted people access to unfiltered HTML.
For people who are not logged in, it looks like an article or blog post (or a MediaWiki entry, if you decide to put comments in a tab). For people who can edit it, they can see the edit history and make changes. People who can't edit shouldn't see the edit UI.
A way to add custom CSS would be a nice touch. That way custom classes can be used or existing classes overridden.
