Mga Historical Truths na Hindi Naitawid sa Ating Mga Faith Communities (at sa Schools na rin)
Sa development ng power structures sa lipunan sa iba't ibang bansa towards greater participation by the people, mayroong mga katuruan sa bibliya na hindi naituro o naibalanse sa dating mindset ng mga churches.
Ilan lamang po ito:
(1) Na dahil ang tao ay ginawa sa wangis ng Panginoon, nais ng Diyos ang flourishing ng humanity. Malalim po ang mga implikasyon niyan sa pakikisalamuha ng Kristyano with all fellow human beings;
(2) Na tayo ay “brothers keepers” ng lahat, hindi lamang ng mga ka-simbahan natin;
(3) Na loving one’s neighbors ay para mahalin ang kapwa gaya ng pagmamahal ng sarili, walang superior o inferior class, in fact priority ni God ang caring for the poor;
(4) Na ang human dignity na galing sa pagiging image-bearer ng lahat ay dapat laging pinangangaagaan ng bawat Kristyano;
(5) Na God has gifted our nation with constitutional democracy, which means wala dapat na ruling class, at dapat ang government ay servant of the people;
(6) That the people owns all government authority as they are the Sovereign Filipino People, kaya accountable ang lahat sa government to fulfill the people’s vision of a just and humane society as specified in the Constitution.
(7) That the duty of every Filipino is to exact accountability from holders of government power.
Basahin po natin ulit ang PREAMBLE, ang Article 2, Section 1 at Article 11, Section 1 ng Constitution. Ito ang clear gift of God to the Filipino people na dapat itinuturo sa mga churches at eskwelahan:
PREAMBLE:
We, the Sovereign Filipino People, imploring the aid of Almighty God, in order to build a just and humane society and establish a Government that shall embody our ideals and aspirations, promote the common good, conserve and develop our patrimony, and secure to ourselves and our posterity the blessings of independence and democracy under the rule of law and a regime of truth, justice, freedom, love, equality and peace, do ordain and promulgate this Constitution.
Article 2, Section 1:
The Philippines is a democratic and republican state. Sovereignty resides in the people and all government authority emanates from them.
Article 11, Section 1:
Public office is a public trust. Public officers and employees must at all times be accountable to the people, serve them with utmost responsibility, integrity, loyalty, and efficiency, act with patriotism and justice, and lead modest lives.
Did you make sure your government was accountable to promote a just and humane society?”
