"We have never rejected contact with anyone. [Russian] President [Vladimir] Putin stresses our position every time the topic is raised. Talking is always better than getting isolated from each other," Russia’s top diplomat said, when asked if there are plans to maintain communication with the new US administration. "We’ll see if there are any proposals, and I reiterate that it was not us who broke off relations and it’s not up to us to suggest reviving those. If there is an initiative to sit down and have a frank conversation about where we are standing and how we should move forward, without any unilateral demands, we will be ready [for that]," he added.
