Upgrade/Move Hubzilla Version 4.6 to Current
Hi All,
I am admin of a hubzilla hub, which I use for various personal projects and organizations, and has hundreds of people who have accounts which I use to communicate with them.
Unfortunately I have been remiss in my keeping the server updated, and now I fear the base OS underneath the hub may be so out of date that I might not be able to update it to the current versions. It is running Ubuntu 16.04.6 LTS.
I am thinking the best option is going to be to install a new server on a cloud provider (I have been using vultr but if there is some reason to use another one, I do not mind) and migrate the current hubzilla instance over to the new installation, but I am not sure if this is the best option or how to go about it.
Currently, the hub displays the following:
This site is powered by Hubzilla (pro)
Version 4.6
I had to make a new account on a new hub to post this message, because it seems I can no longer authenticate from my account on my hub to post here. My server also spends a lot of time being unavailable because the database overloads the server, and it basically hangs for several minutes at a time and is unavailable.
I would be happy to pay someone to help me out with this if anyone is capable and available. I would like to get up to the most recent version and hopefully not lose all the accounts and data on the current server.
Thanks!
