Question about Mastodon comments

Hello,
I am not sure if this is the right place to ask, but I am not finding a netter one right now.

I wonder if Ibam doing something wrong or if there's just a missing feature in Hubzilla, I found.

The following happend:
I am following someone in Mastodon via my Hubzilla account. That person posted a foto and I wrote a comment. So far so good - everything worked.
But when the person replied to my comment I never noticed as that reply did not appear in my Hubzilla stream anywhere. I only found it by chance when using the Mastodon site.

Is there some way to see those replies in Hubzilla?

My first thought was that it's a permission issue, that this Mastodon account is not permitted to comment on your posts. But it's about commenting on a comment on one of their posts, so it's their thread and not yours.

You may want to check the contact role for that Mastodon contact, though, just to be on the safe side.

Do you have filters in place? General filters for the whole channel or specific filters for that contact? Because they filter everything. Maybe that reply didn't get past a filter.

I have checked that there are no filters active in the side panel. About permissions; I don't know if I have checked everything and it is set the way it's ment to be. But as I received the other one's post at the first place I think it should not be a permission problem, should it?
Is it possible to prohibit external comments on my own posts (or even only my own comments)?

I have just checked the contact role for that specific user: It is the default (not changable) contact role.
It allows the three permissions mentioned above (sending their posts, like/dislike, sending PMs) as I have just confirmed.

The other thing: As in this case the Mastodon user has started the thread I have no control over the permissions in the first place, do I?

Then what's happening is mysterious to me. Maybe the people at the @Hubzilla Support Forum can help you; it's much busier than this place.

No. Just because a thread originated in a place that knows no permissions, you don't have more control over them. In fact, Hubzilla tries to translate Mastodon settings to Hubzilla permissions, and if it can't, it regards the permissions in question as granted.
