@fsfe @fsf why does everyone hate on RMS so much, like just because someone said a couple bad things (that were misinterpreted anyway) does not mean you have to burn all connections with them and anyone connected to them. Yes he is a nerd and weird sometimes but hey that's all of us.

@RandomNumber-x3lz Because if someone has done something that appeared not to be politically correct, no matter what, no matter when, they must be cancelled and boycotted at all costs for all eternity. For if you don’t, you’re just as bad as them. That’s how it is.

I guess the reason why many have switched from GIMP to Krita, pulling in half a KDE Plasma 6 desktop if they aren't already on Plasma, is not because Krita is objectively more powerful, not because they boycott something with such an ableist name as “GIMP”, but because GIMP = GNU = Richard M. Stallman.

In fact, Stallman may be at least one reason for many people to use Plasma, LXQt, i3wm or the like: They want to keep any and all GNU code away from their machines all the way down to Gtk+ because Gtk+ = GNU = Richard M. Stallman.

The only reason why there isn't a mass exodus away from GNU/Linux is because there are hardly any Linux-based distros commonly known for not using the GNU Userland, and because GNU/Linux users can't imagine having nearly as much software available on BSD. Or they can't find a BSD whose creators and maintainers are perfect angels.
