The Hubzilla project has adopted a policy of not allowing contributions based on LLMs or other generative "AI" systems.
The word I keep coming back to is de-corporatisation. A protocol can be distributed while power remains concentrated. If ActivityPub is technically distributed, but one private company ends up deciding how the Fediverse works in practice, then the politics have failed. If no company dominates, but Mastodon's interpretation becomes the only practical one, that also limits what the Fediverse can become.(...)Technical complexity decides who gets to participate. Past a certain point, only capital can remain in the room. The Fediverse could follow the same path. Mastodon can probably keep up as the stack grows. Meta can certainly keep up with Threads. Independent implementers will have a harder time entering, experimenting, disagreeing. A network can look decentralised from the outside while becoming very narrow in practice. That is the future I fear most.
Solidified is a new theme for Hubzilla that is currently still under development. The developer, Saiwal, is already well known for his modern ‘classic’ Hubzilla themes, but is breaking new ground with Solidified. Solidified is an SPA (single-page application) theme.Single-page web applications are web apps that consist of a single HTML document and dynamically reload their content as required. This reduces the load on the server, as much of the processing is carried out on the client side.
