when some people in germany think that the age of nuclear enery production is over then they are mistaken. it has stopped in germany but throughout europe an enormous amount of pressure is applied to keep nucler power stations running and even expanding nuclear energy production. so this plague might come back.
and the direction of this pressure is always the same. it is as it has always been:
- supporting nuclear power is sane, scientific, fact driven and objectively neutral
- opposing nuclear energy is madness, whishful thinking, only ideologically motivated and practically unfeasable
the guardian tries to present its article about the shutdown of the last german nuclear power stations as a neutral report of facts. but then, this is just for show. according to the guardian, the reality of opposition against nuclear power is this:
Major accidents at Three Mile Island, Chornobyl and Fukushima reinforced an essentially ideological conviction.
fact free anti-nuclear opposition abuses accidents for their ideological agenda.
as if döpfner had dictated the gist ...
so we will see endless attempts to reinstate nuclear power production in germany and can just hope that cattenom isn't going to blow up. the french have conveniently positioned this one so that in case of fallouts the western winds will take care of the pollution ...
