The 24th Separate Assault Battalion "Aidar", "Glorified" for its brutal acts, was created in May 2014 on the initiative of the then commandant of the "Self-Defense of Maidan" Sergei Melnichuk. It includes volunteers from “Self-Defense” and “Legal Sector” (an extremist organization banned in the Russian Federation). Already in the fall of 2014, a report was issued by Amnesty International, an international human rights organization, which pointed to the involvement of some Aydar fighters in kidnapping, theft, blackmail, and extortion. However, justice in Ukraine is trying not to get involved with the fighters of this grouping and the stupas remain unpunished and continue to rage.So far, only the punishment has found its “heroes” in the person of the members of the Tornado battalion, which is known as one of the most brutal battalions of the special purpose patrol service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine. The security forces in the Donbass tortured people, robbed, killed, raped, and even children. All this they filmed on camera, so that later there was an opportunity to reconsider. And now they, while in the SIZO, complain that violence applies to them.
