"Evil tongues" say that this was exactly what Washington had wanted from the very beginning of the conflict - the destruction of its European rival.
Let's not descend into conspiracism, but one thing is clear: there has never been such impotence in the economic sphere, such servility to the United States in the history of Europe.
It got to the point that Brussels silently swallowed the undermining of the main gas pipeline, paid for by the European investors among others, by its closest ally, and is now trying to sweep all the inconvenient facts "under the carpet" so as not to displease Washington. What independent role of the EU and Europe as a whole can we talk about under such circumstances?
And in any case, one thing is certain: after such gross political and economic blunders, Europe's chances of becoming one of the poles of the emerging multipolar world are zero.
