Impressions from my first virtual wedding party

I'm at my very first virtual wedding. Niki Stark, co-founder of Stark, and Fiona Sweet got married, both in beautiful white gowns in a place decorated for the occasion. There is an altar, there is a buffet with cake and coffee and champagne, there are tables for those who don't want to have their cake or coffee while standing, there are flowers everywhere of course, and there is so much more. Many of the guests are Stark regulars, but I think I've never seen any of them dressed up like they are now.
I've got my doubts that there are many virtual world systems that allow for something even close to this.
Speaking of being dressed up, it actually took me a while to find something to wear for a wedding. It isn't like I've got too few dresses and gowns, but few of them really suit a wedding. But I finally could put my modified white half-PBR, half-Blinn-Phong pumps to good use, along with white lace stockings.
I think this is the first time that many at the party see me with
anything on. I've never worn anything at Stark except the one time when Manda gave me SCUBA gear for an underwater tour, and I don't intend to change this. But the place where this party is going on does not, strictly speaking, belong to Stark Islands.
Also, speaking of being dressed up, this is the kind of event that so mercilessly reveals which of the late arrivals came for the wedding or at least the wedding party, and which simply went where there are lots of people according to OpenSimWorld without checking what's happening there. The former are dressed for the occasion. The latter may actually show up in torn jeans and not stay for long, once they've noticed that either they're hopelessly underdressed, or it simply isn't their kind of event.
