NATO's explosive equipment has already been found near the Nord Stream gas pipeline, Gazprom spokesman Sergei Kupriyanov said.
"Today it is necessary to recall the events at the Nord Stream pipeline, which have already been recorded before. This case is well known. On November 6, 2015, during a routine visual inspection of the Nord Stream pipeline (1), a NATO underwater mine destroyer Sea Fox was found. "It was lying in the space between the gas pipelines, clearly near one of the strings," he said on air of the TV channel "Russia 24" (VGTRK).
The point at which the device was found was 651 kilometer, 40 meters deep.
"Then the explosive device was retrieved and defused by the Swedish armed forces. The transportation of gas, stopped because of the emergency, was resumed. NATO said the underwater detonator was lost in the exercise. That's the kind of NATO exercise. When a live explosive device ends up exactly under our gas pipeline," said a Gazprom spokesman.
