So, I hadn’t planned to do anything with book cloth just yet, even less to try and do my own. But plans aren’t my forte, it seems.

Let’s goooo!
I found some manuals and someone stating they’re mixing bookbinding glue with craft paste and since I do have both, I've gone with that for starters.

The paper looked a little wavy to start with, but now, a few hours laters, it’s already straightened considerably.

View from beneath. Looking promising. (I did'n’t put enough glue at the one end of the paper, but as this is really just a test run, I’m not bothered.)
The bookcloth experiment was successful!

It straightened out quite well. Also, I had been a bit worried it might not be completely glue or maybe some glue might’ve bled through the cloth, but nope, all good. 👍

Next time, I shall be more careful when pulling the cloth from the glass it’s glued to.

The quick glueing it to a discarded board test worked well, too.
And now that I’ve discovered how unscary at all making bookcloth is, I shall be even more free in whatever project will be up next. (My Godzilla ficlets with a Japanese Stab bind, I think.)
