The Saturday event of #
OSG16B at #
EventPlaza on #
OSgrid continues. In the meantime, we've exceeded 60 avatars, and some of us, my in-world sister @
Juno Rowland and me included, had free birthday cake.

AltText:
Digitally rendered image of myself, dancing with my sister Juno at the 16th anniversary of
OSgrid, the oldest grid running on
OpenSimulator, an open-source re-implementation of Second Life.
Both of us are fair-skinned human digital avatars with black hair. I'm in the foreground, right of centre, with my back towards the observer. My hair is short and tidy. I'm wearing my usual glasses with a black frame, a light grey polo shirt, a pair of black denim jeans and a pair of black full-brogue leather shoes.
Juno is left of centre, her head oriented to the left and slightly downwards. She is wearing her hair as a short bob. She is also wearing a necklace with a golden OSgrid logo, a pair of silver rope hoop earrings, a white tank top with an anniversary print, a red rose bracelet on her left arm, a black denim miniskirt, a pair of white ankle-high socks with three black horizontal stripes and a pair of black flat ballet shoes with silver flower-like ornaments on them. The print on her shirt has the OSgrid logo in yellow with a black outline to the top left, the orange writing "OSGRID" to the right next to it, the black writing "The Open Source Metaverse" below that and an orange horizontal bar with the white writing "16h Birthday" at the bottom. Due to technical limitations, the texture is rather blurry.
We are at
Event Plaza, OSgrids's official main event location. The floor below us is silver; the light gives it a rose tint.
To the left of and behind Juno, there is a light grey side table made out of an unknown material with two twisted legs. The table carries a glow-in-the-dark sales box that gives away two corsages for women. It shows a photographic texture with a red rose, surrounded by smaller white flowers, and a pink rose, surrounded by smaller yellow flowers, both on white fabric that's shaped to resemble rose petals. The writing says, "TOUCH for your CORSAGE".
Above the sales box, the blurry white "HAPPY BIRTHDAY OSGRID" banner hovering above the landing-place can be seen with a large snowflake above the letter Y from which three lines of smaller snowflakes lead downward. To the left of the sales box, there is a blurry bunch of golden balloons and the black roof of a sales booth where women's tank tops like the one that Juno is wearing, men's T-shirts with the same print, both in both black and white, and black top hats can be acquired for free.
Behind me, slightly closer to the observer than the side table, there's a light grey planter made of an unknown shiny material with a tall fern in it. Behind the planter and the side table, a rosebush hedge with an ellipticall cross-section surrounds the place.
Otherwise, the left and centre background shows pine and oak trees, and the background to the right is taken up by a steep green hill. Four more blurry golden balloons line the upper edge of the image.
The sky transitions from wine red with a few purple clouds downwards to purple and, right above the horizon and behind the trees and the hill, to sky blue. The sun, way to the right outside the image, is fixed at sunset.
