@kuchinster: Those features are there for exactly your use-case (external entities trying to mess with/censor connections) and routing around that damage. :-)

Couple added points:

Under Help, About Tor Browser you see the current version; should be, as of right now: 14.0.3. If it isn't, it will update. You should always run the latest version, if possible! See also: Settings/General/Tor Browser Updates.

There's also a security slider (shield icon on upper right menu bar). Try using 'safer' as your default, instead of the out-of-the-box 'standard'.
