I've been using it for several years on one of my home laptops, and now (after the words of the arrogant Linus Torvalds) FreeBSD will be my primary system.

А смысл? #
linux
не является операционной системой, это всего лишь ядро. Операционкой именующейся #
GNU/Linux
является всё то, что за пределами ядра.
Много людей развлекались и развлекаются сборкой своих вариантов ядра, под свои цели и задачи.
И всегда были не ванильные, а различные редакции ядер линуха, то же #
linux-libre

OpenBSD
.

I'm using the entry-level version, #
GhostBSD
. It's freebasd for beginners, I guess.
I'm highly motivated to switch from Linux, now that it's proving to be a wholly-owned subsidiary of Microsoft, IBM, and Google. It's awkward for me on the desktop, but after a couple of weeks now it's just about perfect for my needs. It seems more nimble than Linux, too.

Out of interest:
What's the status of OS use in Russia? I mean for normal people here, as well as businesses.
What do they use, overall? Any trends visible, like switching from/to particular platforms?

As far as I know, from February 2022, the public sector is actively switching to local operating systems (AltLinux, Astra, ROSA, and something else) with a Linux kernel. Russian accounting systems, office packages, engineering design systems, etc. have long been written for Linux, and now they are finally becoming popular, whereas before they had to “pick up crumbs from the table” after Western multinationals.
Home users are also slowly getting involved in Linux OS assimilation, but the inertia is huge and most of them are too lazy to change anything. Just gradually come a new generation of users who are interested in dealing with something new and they notice that not Windows unified can be put on your computer.
Games still pull people to the old, but Stim helps to get away from this archaic.
In short, as Max Planck said, new knowledge (paradigms) comes when the carriers of old knowledge leave.

There is also a Russian version of BSD - Ulyanovsk BSD
https://ulbsd.ru/
, but it seems to be poorly developed. Unfortunately, I can no longer access this site, because my current Ukrainian provider blocks access even through VPN.-(

As an aside, if that's the case, then your VPN isn't working!

: IN Tor settings/connections, try using bridges. You can pick obfs4 or snowflake, for example.

your use-case (external entities trying to mess with/censor connections) and routing around that damage. :-)

Couple added points:
Under Help, About Tor Browser you see the current version; should be, as of right now: 14.0.3. If it isn't, it will update. You should always run the latest version, if possible! See also: Settings/General/Tor Browser Updates.
There's also a security slider (shield icon on upper right menu bar). Try using 'safer' as your default, instead of the out-of-the-box 'standard'.
