I imagine that, after the period of Nazi occupation, there would be some credibility in portraying the Red Army as liberators of #Ukraine. At the same time, it would bring the country back under the regime that had orchestrated the Holodomor.

Maybe the Ukrainians were better off in the USSR, but it would be like jumping back from the fire into the frying pan.

@Sibrosan Excuse me, but the "Holodomor" is an anti-Soviet myth, promoted for decades in the West. Famines in Russia before the Soviet regime was regular and no one but the Soviets fought them and the USSR had its last famine year in 1947. No more Soviet people (Russians, Ukrainians, Belarusians, Uzbeks, Chechens, Georgians, Tatars, Kazakhs and other hundreds of nations of the country) didn't go hungry.

A great famine that hit #Ukraine especially hard, because of Soviet politics, did actually occur.
Whether those politics were actually intended to commit genocide may be up for debate. But the tragedy the #Ukrainians suffered under Stalin will not have made them particularly eager to be "liberated" by the Red Army into the USSR again, as the propaganda poster you tooted suggests.
