Is it just me, or are many female #

avatars hypocrites?
On the one hand, they dress like 15-year-old schoolgirls who are in some competition for being the hottest, sexiest bitch at their school. They want to go outside even in freezing temperatures wearing a midriff-baring top and a micro-miniskirt or a pair of hot pants over naked legs. But unlike these schoolgirls, they wear 4" platform sandals with 8" spike heels whereas the schoolgirls get to wear Buffalos at best. They're practically in an arms race for being the Hypergrid's sluttiest slut while at the same time rejecting the term "slut." It doesn't help at all that many freebie sims only cater to them as customers.
That is, micro-miniskirts are becoming yesterday's fashion. The newest thing are skirts which are literally wider belts because they end
above the crotch, uncovering the wearer's underwear. The skirt is being reduced to an accessory. And yes, some users wear this style as their daily casual streetwear. By the end of the year, female avatars who cover up their undies will count as conservative, prudish grannies.
I sincerely hope it isn't that bad in #
SecondLife. And I hope there's more tolerance for female avatars who don't always dress as scantily as they could possibly get away with.
On the other hand, it's often those self-same avatars who absolutely refuse to go naked on nude beaches. Even if both the sim description and in-world signs say that nudity is mandatory, no exception, they wear a micro-bikini at least. Some even stride around in the same slutwear they wear everywhere, regardless of covering more skin than your average bikini-clad lady. It isn't too uncommon for parties on nude sims to be attended by 90% clothed people, the majority being female avatars. If the sim owner installs technical means of keeping avatars in clothes out, something which has happened only once so far, they'll first try several tricks to circumvent the block. If they fail, and they will, they'll decide that the sim sucks anyway without even really having seen it.
I guess this is why hardly anyone dares to call me prudish, regardless of how "blandly" I dress: If I don't have to dress at all, I won't. But I prefer warm to racy.
