There should be a way to summarize/cw at least, when AP is active.
I don"t think the lack of filter functions in Mastodon is a reason for the AP world to implement a field for CW, and require everyone to fill it...
In a way, I understand why they chose the summary field for content warnings. If someone writes a summary, there is usually enough information to let people know what the rest of the content is about. It's just that on Mastodon, they don't care about summaries, they care about content warnings, so they renamed the field.
One part of the assumption was that Mastodon users wouldn't find out that there's a world outside Mastodon anyway.
Because they would be just as justified to have you sanctioned for not providing hashtags or keywords to trigger their NSFW filters.
Instead, they have a post editor at the top of the stream, and they have one separate comment field under each post, just like a blog or Facebook or Tumblr.
I'm somehow surprised, to hear that some people complain that much about.
