Things I do which allegedly "literally nobody" does, part 8: Wear medium-height pumps or, when I don't feel like wearing heels, flat #
shoes. As opposed to only ever wearing 10cm heels or higher.
I pity Athena & Co. in this regard. All flat shoes and boots that were imported for these bodies have been around since about 2015 when the copybotting craze began. Just about everything that came afterwards has 10cm heels. Also, medium-height pumps only exist for the system body and the Ruth2 mesh body family, and they don't fit on imported bodies. There simply are no such shoes for Athena.
That's also why Athena 5, the last pre-BoM version, only comes with height-adjustment classic "shoes" for 10cm heels: There are no medium-height Athena shoes. Femme 6 still comes with "shoes" for both heights, and these are also included in the #
Ruth2 v4 Extras box.
Athena 6 doesn't come with such "shoes" at all anymore. I don't think it's out of fear that they may mess up BoM; they don't if they're set up correctly. It's more a case of "everyone only ever wears 10cm heels and walks on tip-toes out of convenience anyway, so why bother with supporting anything else?"
Decadence-HG even had all support for medium-height shoes removed including medium-height feet. The target audience for this body would never wear such shoes anyway, even if they existed. I'm surprised that flat feet are still possible.
In #
SecondLife, medium-height shoes for Maitreya Lara do exist, but they're extremely rare. And none of the content thieves in #
OpenSim could ever be bothered to take even only one pair with them for various reasons.
So the only sources for medium-height rigged mesh shoes on the #
Hypergrid, excluding boots, are still Taarna Welles and Klarabella Karamell, and all their high-heeled shoes are rigged for the Ruth2 family and therefore too tight for Athena & Co.
