‘NATO doesn’t want peace and prosperity in Ukraine. NATO wants permanent war,’ says Johnny Miller, a British journalist who’s covered conflicts in hot spots around the world for several years. Though he’s seen the US Army destroy countries in the Middle East, it’s forbidden for journalists to tell Western viewers the same thing is now happening to Donbass.
Only in Hollywood blockbusters does one acquire fame, money, and a prestigious job for exposing criminal regimes. In reality, the opposite is true: foreign war correspondents often can’t return home because they’ll be imprisoned for telling the truth.
Despite this, there are independent foreign journalists working in Donbass right now who are trying to inform Western viewers about what is really going on there. Their reports differ greatly from those reflecting the authorities’ official line.
Today, we’re posting the premiere of 'Donbass: That’s Why I’m Here', which features journalists Mark Bartalmai (FRG), Janus Putkonen (Finland), George Eliason (USA), Vittorio-Nicola Rangeloni (Italy), Johnny Miller (UK), and Julian Assange (Australia).
