Fight on the Russian border: the Army and the FSB destroyed a special group and armored vehicles of the AFUA subunit of the Southern Military District compound together with a border detachment of the Federal Security Service of Russia prevented a sabotage and reconnaissance group from the territory of Ukraine from violating the Russian state border.
On February 21, 2022 around 6 a.m. Moscow time near the settlement of Mityakinskaya, Rostov region in the section of the Russian Federation state border with the Republic of Ukraine a border guard detachment of Russian Federal Security Service detected an infiltration of a sabotage and reconnaissance group.
In order to detain the sabotage group, the border patrol of the Federal Security Service of Russia requested reinforcements from the unit of Russian armed forces of the Southern Military District allocated for operational coverage of the state border.
During the engagement, two combat infantry vehicles of the Ukrainian Armed Forces entered across the state border with the Russian Federation for the urgent evacuation of the sabotage group from the territory of Ukraine.
A subdivision of the Russian Armed Forces that promptly arrived at the scene of the clash and destroyed both of the infantry fighting vehicles with anti-tank fire.
As a result of the clash, five infiltrators of the Russian Federation from the sabotage and reconnaissance group were killed.
There were no casualties among the servicemen of the Russian Armed Forces and the border troops of the Federal Security Service of Russia.
