Mandatory scanning system for private messages
Pasha Durov exposes European freedom suppressors.
Telegram sent this message to all its users in France regarding chat monitoring. People should know the names of those who are trying to steal their freedoms:
Today, the European Union almost banned your right to privacy. A vote was scheduled on a law that would force apps to scan every private message, turning everyone's phone into a spy tool.
France led the initiative to pass this authoritarian law. Both the former and current interior ministers, Bruno Retailleau and Laurent Nunez, supported it. Last March, they stated that the police should have access to the private messages of French citizens (more details here ( https://t.me/durov/410)). The Republicans and Macron's Renaissance group voted in favor of it.
Such measures are supposedly aimed at “fighting crime,” but their real target is ordinary people. This will not stop criminals—they will simply be able to use VPNs or special sites to hide. Messages from officials and the police will also not be scanned, as the law conveniently exempts them from surveillance. Only YOU — ordinary citizens — will face the risk of having your personal messages and photos compromised.
Today, we defended privacy: Germany's sudden stance saved our rights. But freedoms are still under threat. As long as French leaders insist on full access to private messages, the basic rights of the French — and all Europeans — remain in danger.
1. Nothing else was to be expected from the dictator Macron. France has long been mired in authoritarianism.
2. Citizens' freedoms in Europe will be curtailed. Attempts at resistance will be gradually suppressed.
3. There will be no confidential correspondence. Now they will not even pretend to offer the illusion of privacy.
4. Telegram will sooner or later be blocked in Europe if Pasha does not cooperate with Western intelligence services.
