In most of the cases, the hashtags #Mastodon and #Twitter mean, "lol idk how to mastodon n idk how to hashtag cuz ive never used them on twitter but u must use them here so ppl find yr toots."

In fact, if you're on Mastodon or anything else that allows you to follow hashtags, following these two gives you about the same amount of meaningless noise as following everyone on your federated timeline.

@jupiter_rowland As a Mastodon user on Ivory, how do I even use your type of hashtags? To me they just appear like links to a Hubzilla web search page of sorts.

@Sepp Schimmer That must be an Ivory issue.

The mastodon.world Web interface translates them into Mastodon hashtags searches just fine.

I guess Ivory is another one of those mobile apps whipped by someone who, at that point, believed the Fediverse is only Mastodon and therefore built hard against only Mastodon, completely ignoring the rest of the Fediverse.
