That didn't work. Operationally that is, it was worthless. Experimentally, it proved a concept. That they have just perfected. This one actually works. Notice the handheld nozzles. That was the key, the operator had to have more input into the flight controls.

Hands free is good, but the system is unstable, the center of gravity should try to be as low as possible below the center of thrust, which in the case of the first video with the Marines is also not ideal.

That one is nice. I've seen it. But like Kuchinster said. That one is not stable either. To be able to shoot and fly simultaneously would be very appealing to the military.
For SpecOps purposes though, they have a working system now. I'm sure they can't wait to find a reason to deploy it, if they have not already.
