Remember this is a UK (God save the King) publication:
[Johnson] sought to enrich himself since leaving office by sitting down with a Venezuelan despot and courting Mohammed bin Salman, the Saudi crown prince accused of ordering the murder of a journalist.
So the unelected absolutist (just the family can disagree with him) Saudi is a "prince", but the elected - whether you like it or not (compare with Starmer who only got 30pc of votes, but an absolute majority in parliament) - president is called a "despot".
The really interesting matter is thus - as always - why is the Guardian is after him... well the Guardian is Liberal and thus against Brexit:
He [Harborne] has given £10m to Nigel Farage’s Brexit party – now Reform UK – and £1m to the Conservatives while Johnson was completing the UK’s departure from the EU. And Johnson seems to have nurtured the beneficial relationship while he was in No 10.
So if only Johnson had been on message, his corruption, like everyone else's, could have remained undiscovered. Like the vast sums that Blair has accumulated.. On His/Her Majesty's Service (and God Bless America in the name of Canada).
