Now there are two OpenSim grids with more land area than Second Life, one of which is pretty much completely owned and operated by one individual.

I'm tempted to make a meme about this.

To be fair, that is tons of 16x16 regions and the land area really adds up. :)

A better metric is how many people are active, have the resources they need, are having fun, quality of life. A fair comparison of OS vs SL. We have about the same mainland area connected to waterways as SL. But the sailing experience is much more pleasant and crash free. No ban lines. No blocked channels between continents.

Also goals. The thing is if you really want to cram all those people into a tiny area that's no fun. I'm building Wolf Grid slowly in fact, we will eventually catch up and may be overtake second life in terms of users. But I always want to make sure everyone on the grid is really enjoying it and getting the best service we can give.

- Just to correct you on one point though, although I own the grid outright I do have 2 admins and about 30 peacekeepers who assist and welcome users on the grid.
