The #Metaverse is a concept and a term invented by #MarkZuckerberg.
#SecondLife shut down in late 2008 or early 2009 or something. That was so long ago that it isn't worth mentioning it, much less trying to learn from it.
#VirtualWorlds technically require a #blockchain, #cryptocurrencies and #NFTs. There is no other way of making them work.
Virtual worlds have to be operated by big tech corporations.
Every user of a #VirtualWorld has got exactly one #avatar.
#Avatars always look flat and cartoonish. Deal with it.
Land in virtual worlds is always extremely scarce and super-expensive. Yeah, as if you could make your own land.
Separate but interconnected virtual worlds haven't been invented yet. If something like this came, it'd be a downright revolutionary break-through in technology. But it will probably never come.
